A Typical Day at Signature Sports Camps

NOTICE: NOT ALL SUMMER CAMPS ARE CREATED EQUALLY … but you already knew that, right?! When considering a youth summer camp, there are three main components to take a look at: the staff (who’s in charge of keeping your child safe and engaged?), the focus (what does this camp specialize in? Faith? Sports? Traditional activities? etc), and the schedule (aka: what are your kids doing all day?). Today we are going to jump into the summer camp schedule here at Signature Sports Camps… we present you: A Day in the Life of a Signature Camper!

Morning: Wake Up & Jump Into Sports Sessions on the Field

Each morning at Signature Sports Camp is different, but campers do know what to expect. We start each day with a hearty breakfast, our fuel for the day! Breakfasts usually are comprised of protein options like eggs and breakfast meats, carbs like waffles or pancakes, fruit, yogurt, cereal… and if you’re a picky eater: don’t worry. We can always craft something special for you!

After breakfast, campers jump back to their dorms to get changed and ready for their sports practice. But before we head out to our respective fields, we make sure our space is clean and tidy (because we don’t want bugs or anything else living in our rooms while we are gone).

Because we believe in making everything a competition, we do awards for the team with the cleanest room: the Golden Broom Award! Not only do winners get the coveted Golden Broom to hold on to that day, but they also get a team surprise like an ice cream cake at canteen, pizza party, or something else that we all agree on. Because we like to keep things organized and sanitary, we make this prize well worth their time for cleaning!

And finally, it’s time for our morning sports session. Whether you are in the lacrosse track, field hockey track, or soccer track, each athlete gets a focused training experience to elevate their individual performance layered with coaching from Headlining Professional Athletes, Small Group positional training, skill development, scrimmages, and so much more. It’s a core part of our summer camp schedule, ensuring campers elevate their game.

Afternoon: Cool off and Get back at it

After campers grab their lunch and take a load off after a morning on the field, we typically get into an activity to cool us off. This could look like boating in the Lake on campus, a dip in the pool, a game of Beach Volleyball, or maybe even an excursion.

What are excursions? Each Signature Camp Location includes an afternoon in our summer camp schedule that we dedicate to an excursion that’s unique to the area we are in. That might be a hike through the gorges at the Watkins Glen State Park (New York location), or a waterfall hike and swim at Foster Falls (Tennessee Location), and the list goes on!

After some time with our friends and having fun in the sun, we get back to business. Campers get changed, grab their stuff and get right back on the field for more instruction in their sport by our amazing staff of Resident Coaches

Evening: Time for some Signature Activities & Games

Each evening is different at Signature Sports Camps, but each one starts with a delicious dinner, an evening activity, and then canteen. Evening activities are camp games that are competitive, fun, and involve everyone (from coaches to campers!). Evening activities at Signature include Medicine Man (dodgeball with sponges), Shark Tank (teams present an invention around the sports they play), Camp Kickball, Scrimmages under the Lights, Movie Nights, and more. We burn that last bit of energy from the day by running around until the sun goes down on a great day at Camp.

And let’s not forget about Canteen: how we wind down each night! Canteen is hosted in a game room with snacks and gear available for purchase. Some campers use this as free time in their dorms and tackle showers and getting ready for bed at this time too! Campers have the opportunity to grab some snacks, play a game of pool or two with friends, then get back to their dorm for some hang time before lights out.

Where Traditional Sleepaway Camp Meets Sports Camp

Now you can see why our motto is “where traditional sleepaway camp meets sports camp”. We believe in curating the perfect summer camp schedule that mixes the focus and rigor of sports training camp with the fun and adventure of traditional overnight youth camp. And we hope to see you this summer! Learn more about the experience at each of our camp locations, and be sure to register for summer before space runs out!
