Overnight Flag Football Summer Camp

This isn’t your average sports camp: Signature combines the fun of overnight summer camp with the training of a multi-day flag football clinic. Athletes can expect next-level coaching from the best Resident Coaches of Tampa Bay (the Nation’s hub of Flag Football). In addition to Resident Coaches, who double as full-time role models while our athletes are at camp, we welcome Professionals from the National and Pro Leagues to Headline each session. Off the field, campers dive into summer camp traditions like leadership exercises, team bonding, and plain ol’ good-fashioned fun.

Overnight Flag Football Camp in Florida

Train like a Pro | Play like a Champion

Signature’s Flag Football track guides athletes through an intentional Player Development Model designed for a multi-day camp setting. Programming starts with the fundamentals, while our Resident Coaches place athletes in the appropriate training group for their age and skill level. From there, Resident Coaches and our Director of Flag Football progress players through dynamic drills, concepts, and speed/agility training to take their skills (and confidence) to the next level.

Meet the 2026 Professional Coaches

Headlining Professional Coaches coming soon! You might be wondering who these “Pro Coaches” are? Let’s take a second to brag then: Signature brings in the best role models in each sport to “headline” each sport’s track. These headliners can be featured NFL, National Flag, and/or high-level collegiate players who are the best in the game. Headliners work with campers in both small-group training formats and large-scale demonstrations.

Pro lacrosse player Dhane Smith wearing Canada jersey, holding a trophy and a gold medal in his mouth after winning lacrosse championship

Dhane Smith

Summer of ‘24 was Dhane’s third summer at Signature Sports Camps! Athletes love to learn from Dhane for his hands-on coaching, leadership, and engagement on the field. Dhane Smith is a Professional Lacrosse Player in PLL (Chaos LC 1x Champion), NLL (Buffalo Bandits 2x Champion), and on Team Canada (3x Gold Medalist). Not to mention, Dhane is the #1 ranked forward in the NLL and is a 2x league MVP.

Emily Hawryshuck

Not to “one up” Dhane, but Summer ‘24 is Emily’s 4th time headlining at Signature Sports Camps! Emily is captain of the Team USA Women’s Box Lacrosse team and an Unleashed Professional Lacrosse Player. Our lacrosse girls love Emily for her attention to detail when instructing draw concepts, her powerful shooting techniques, and her ability to connect with each player on the field.

Buffalo Bandits professional lacrosse player Ian MacKay holding a trophy above his head in celebration of winning lacrosse championship

Ian MacKay

Summer ‘24 was our first year welcoming headlining coach Ian McKay! And he will no doubt be back in the future: athletes loved hearing about his lacrosse story in our Q&A and learning from his background as a Defensive Middie. Ian is hands-on, engaging, and encouraging when coaching up our boys. Ian is a Professional Lacrosse player in the PLL (Team Chaos, locking in the 2021 championship alongside his teammate Dhane Smith), NLL (Buffalo Bandits, and you guessed it: winning championships right along Dhane), and was a 2x Captain and All-American at Vermont

Skills & Drills: Development & Training

We deliver focused training that serves each age and skill level. How? We segment athletes into groups based on these factors after careful observation and thoughtful conversation. We know campers like to come with friends, and sometimes campers have a different skillset than their pal. We talk through this balance with both families and the campers to make sure each athlete can be pushed outside of their comfort zone while enjoying the social aspect of overnight sports camp.

Fundamentals & Technique

We always make time to reinforce the fundamentals (oftentimes cleaning up those bad habits!) and teach the foundational techniques of the sport. This covers core skills like passing, catching, handoffs, route running, defensive positioning, and footwork.

FAQ

What does a week look like at Signature’s Flag Football Overnight Camp?

Each day, athletes get both a morning and an afternoon Flag Football training session. Typically, skills, drills, and footwork are in the morning with competitions, game play, and scrimmages in the afternoon. In between sessions on the field, campers get 3 meals in the dining hall, a dip in the pool to cool off, and evening activities like Spikeball & S’mores on the beach. This is just the high-level overview; we are grazing over things like Canteen, our Camp Excursions, and surprises throughout the day.

What should I bring to camp?

Everything that you’d bring to Flag Football practice for one! Outside of that, we provide a packing list that goes over everything each camper needs for a successful week at camp. These packing lists are available in our Welcome Packets, which are available when you register in the “Forms” area of your Parent Dashboard.

How do you ensure my advanced player gets the coaching he/she needs? What about my beginner?

We group athletes based on their age and skill level! So your advanced camper would be in a group that challenges him/her, while providing some new “tools” for the “toolbox”. Your beginner would be in a dedicated group for him/her - these beginner groups keep campers comfortable so they can learn the basics while gaining confidence after each rep.

What’s the player-to-coach ratio on the field? Off the field?

Our Resident Coaches are both on AND off the field with our campers - so the number is the same here for both: 8:1. We have (at the minimum) 8 players to every coach. This could look like 16:2 (as an example) if the campers are in a game-play drill, or a simple 8:1in small group training or drill sessions. Off the field, we keep kids in teams that support this ratio for our Supervision and Safety Standards.

How do I know my kid is safe at Flag Football camp?

We are an ACA-accredited camp, which means that we have around 275 standards in place to support a camper’s safety, supervision, health, wellness, and objectives within the program. We are audited every 3 years and participate in annual conferences and events that support continuous education within professional camps. We also keep our parents in the loop with our daily newsletter! So you get a check-in each day explaining what we’ve done on the field, off the field, and what we are looking forward to.
