Announcing Signature’s 2024 Headlining Professional Athletes!

Share this post:

A pillar of Signature Sports Camps’ programming is our coaches. We have our Resident Coaches, who are coaches that specialize in each position of the sports track (remember, we offer sports tracks in Lacrosse, Soccer, & Field Hockey). These coaches are college players, college coaches, & alumni who are passionate about not only teaching aspects of the sport but also a camper’s built-in role model. Resident Coaches double as Camp Counselors, staying on campus day and night and trained in supervision, safety, & our Signature programming.

And we also have our Professional Athlete Headliners: these are the athletes that campers look up to and watch on ESPN. These athletes play the sport at the highest level and come to camp to “Headline” our sports sessions for a few select sessions to reinvigorate and inspire our players. Headliners lead sports sessions, provide a group demo on a special skill, lead a Q&A on their sports journey, and then end with autographs and pictures.

Let’s Meet Our 2024 Professional Headlining Athlete Line-Up!

Dhane Smith

Dhane Smith coaching a young group of lacrosse players at Signature's overnight sports camp

Dhane Smith is a Professional Lacrosse player in the National Lacrosse League (NLL) and Premier Lacosse League (PLL). In the last 4 years, Dhane has won 4 Championships in the Field & Box game. Dhane is the ‘23 NLL League MVP & ‘23 & ‘24 NLL Champion on the Buffalo Bandits. Smith holds the current NLL single-season points record while also simultaneously holding both the current single-season goals record and the current NLL single-season assists record. Smith is also on Team Canada and a 2x Gold Medalist on the team. To say he’s an expert on the offensive side of the field is an understatement – each player, no matter the position, will learn from his offensive IQ, stick skills, and champion attitude. We’re excited to have Dhane join us at the New York Overnight Sports Camp sessions this year!

Mckenna Davis

Collegiate lacrosse player Mckenna Davis during a game at Boston College

Mckenna Davis is most recently a 2024 DI National Champion with Boston College (not to mention one of her goals during that game earned her Sports Center’s #3 Pick of the Week). Davis is BC’s All-Time Assist Leader, an IWLCA All-American, and has played in every game since she was a Freshman. She became the 11th fastest player in Boston College Women’s Lacrosse history to reach 100 points, hitting the mark in just 39 games. If you didn’t know about Boston College’s Women’s Lacrosse Program, now you do: they have made an NCAA Final 4 appearance since 2013; the 2017, 2019, 2022, & 2023 runner-up, and National Champions in 2021 & 2024. Mckenna is a fantastic addition to our headlining athlete lineup at the New York lacrosse camp sessions!

Ian MacKay

Professional lacrosse player Ian MacKay during a game with the Carolina Chaos

Also joining the New York lacrosse camps, MacKay is a Professional Lacrosse player in the PLL (Chaos LC) & NLL (Buffalo Bandits). Teammates with Dhane Smith in both the NLL & PLL, Ian has helped lead the Buffalo Bandits to the NLL Championships (2023 & 2024); and the PLL to 1 Championship (2022). MacKay also played on Team Canada in 2012 & 2018. Ian MacKay is an Elgin, Ontario native who attended The Hill Academy. Then off to the University of Vermont, where MacKay was a two-time team captain, three-time all-conference selection, and a two-time All-American.

Emily ultimately ended her college lacrosse stint as Syracuse’s all-time leader in goals with 272. She is also ranked fourth in program history in career points with 341. After Syracuse, Emily became a Professional Lacrosse player on the PLL’s Unleashed team (2024), Team USA’s inaugural Women’s Box Lacrosse Team, and Team USA’s Sixes Team (2017). Emily is now a College Lacrosse Coach at RIT

Professional field hockey player Julianna Tornetta during a game

Julianna’s collegiate playing experience started at Princeton University Women’s Field Hockey program, where she was named an NFHCA All-American in 2019 and 2018. Also at Princeton, Julianna was named to the NFHCA All-Tournament Team in both seasons and helped the Tigers to back-to-back Final Fours and an appearance in the national title game. After her stint at Princeton, Julianna spent her 5th year of eligibility at the University of Maryland.

As for her Professional Career, in the Spring of 2021, Julianna was invited to join the USA Women’s National Squad in Belgium and England to compete in the FIH Hockey Pro League. She also played in USA National Team camps from 2012-17, and was a member of the U-21, U-19, U-17 National Squads. Julianna also played in the AAU Junior Olympics and USA Futures Elite 2012-15. We’re so excited to have Julianna joining us for the Field Hockey sessions at our New York overnight camp!

Connor & Brady Kearnan

Professional lacrosse players and brothers Connor and Brady Kearnan

The Kearnan brothers are both Professional Lacrosse Players in the National Lacrosse League. Brady is on the Georgia Swarm as a forward. In his colligate career, he was a First-Team All-American at Mercy College, where he was named ECC Offensive Player of the Year (2022), and led the team to its first-ever National Championship appearance, among many other notable accomplishments. Connor is also a forward, but on the New York Riptide. Just like his brother, Connor was named the MAAC Offensive Player of the Year (2018), at Canisius. In addition to his professional lacrosse career, Connor also is the Head Men’s Lacrosse Coach at Queen’s University (Canada).

Dodge City Lacrosse

Dodge City Lacrosse head trainer, Coach Roe

Dodge City Lacrosse specializes in elite movement and footwork training for lacrosse athletes and is coming in to train our campers as a Headlining Partner. A little untraditional to our Pro Headliners, we had to make an exception for Roe, the Head Trainer at Dodge City Lacrosse. Roe trains hundreds of athletes around the United States- providing unmatched training for youth to DI Lacrosse Players. There’s a reason the top lacrosse players train with Dodge City- expect Roe to focus on speed, deception, agility, and so much more with his time at Signature Sports Camps.

Danielle Etrasco

Professional lacrosse player Danielle Etrasco during a game for Team USA

Danielle was a member of the Team USA Women’s Lacrosse Team from 2011-2017; a Professional Lacrosse Player for the WPLL from 2016-2019, and a DI College Lacrosse Coach for Georgetown, Army West Point, and Virginia Tech. Danielle is an attacker and now specializes in Player Development for lacrosse players. Danelle’s Lacrosse IQ is unmatched- her tenure in the game at the highest levels gave her unparelled takeaways that she’s excited to give to our Tennessee Campers

Andrew Kew
